The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point (UWSP) recently announced it will offer a collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree with UW Oshkosh (UWO). UWO College of Nursing will offer its BSN@Home program on the UWSP campus. This would allow registered nurses with an Associates Degree or Diploma in Nursing to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing right here in Stevens Point.
UW System President, Kevin P. Reilly commented on the hard work and extensive planning that went into the cooperative effort. He also stated, “In tough economic times, public university systems like ours must align academic offerings with workforce needs in the most efficient, effective manner possible.” UWSP Provost Mark Nook stated, “The UWO-UWSP collaboration will bring to Central Wisconsin the best possible nursing education network at all necessary degree levels, and with the highest quality and value because it is from the UW.”
UWSP currently cooperates with colleges in Wausau, Marshfield, Fond du Lac and Marinette to offer collaborative degrees with majors in business administration, American studies and Web and digital media development.
