The Stevens Point Area FCCLA with co-chairs, Makenze Wagner and Aiden Fisher, hosted a dental hygiene drive for the people in need in Portage County. The drive was held at SPASH during a basketball game, hockey game, wrestling match and community performance of the Positive Impact Project. At these sporting events almost 200 items and $100.00 were donated. The funds were then used to buy more dental hygiene products. There was also a competition done in Ms. Lesniak’s Health Occupations classes, where the first and second place winners received prizes. The students were very eager to help. They raised with the help of dental office donations over 1,700 items. All of the products that were donated were put into single and family bags, along with a dental care guide. All of the bags are going to be donated to Operation Bootstrap, the Family Crisis Center, and the Salvation Army. Makenze and Aiden were very pleasantly surprised about how eager the people in their school, community, and local dental offices were willing to donate.
