Exploring Career Clusters

Helping students explore career clusters is just one of the ways our Partners in Education (PIE) program provides services to approximately 10,000 students and 1,100 educators in six different school districts.

PIE partner school districts benefit from the support and expertise of local businesses and professional organizations that PIEparticipate in PIE programs, services and events.  PIE’s mission is to provide employable skills and to develop career awareness opportunities for K-12 students in Portage County through education, business and community partnerships.

Exploring career clusters helps students to:

  • develop career awareness
  • understand how their classes or majors may prepare them for particular career clusters
  • evaluate their own interests and skills against the fundamental activities of a particular career cluster
  • consider seeking job shadow opportunities
