My name is Shane Glinski. I am a senior at UWSP majoring in Professional Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. This is my last semester of college, and I am really looking forward to what my future holds within my professional career. In the past couple of years, I have fallen in love with Public Relations and Community involvement; therefore, will be looking to learn and grow within an organization that is greatly involved within the community. Being from Wisconsin Rapids, I have grown to love Central Wisconsin, including the Portage County Area. In the beginning of my college career, I was originally attending UW-River Falls, but I knew it wasn’t the right place for me, and so I found my way back to Central Wisconsin and grew a deep passion for a region I now call home. Within the time that I have spent here, I have truly enjoyed hammocking along the Wisconsin River, enjoying the many parks we have to offer, and hiking the endless trails all throughout the area. It’s not just the recreation that keeps me coming back, it’s also the countless ice cream and coffee shops that satisfy my thirst. Beyond all that, I am really looking forward to getting more engaged with the community and what it has to offer, and am extremely excited to enact that opportunity by being an Intern for the Portage County Business Council.
