Six Area Young Professionals and Investors Community Bank Receive Ignite Awards

 Ignite Young Professionals have proudly announced the recipients of their Committee MVPs and Business Supporter of the Year awards.

Ignite is a group of young professionals focused on providing professional, social, and philanthropic opportunities for our members to ensure a vibrant future for Portage County, Wisconsin. These awards are given annually by Ignite Young Professionals. This year’s award winners were nominated by committee chairs who assist leading the organization. Each recipient will be recognized at Ignite’s Holiday Soiree event held at Muse at Sentry on Dec. 21.

These awards recognize volunteers and a local business who has shown exceptional dedication to the organization and community. The seven recipients of the 2017 awards are:

Career Committee MVP –Tia Misoni, CoVantage Credit Union

Tia has served on the Career Committee for the last two years. In that time, Tia has gladly stepped up to help plan and execute events. After playing a huge role in planning the 2016 Ignite’s Nonprofit Board Training, she had the great idea to create an Ignite-sponsored etiquette dinner. Tia played a large role in making the etiquette dinner, the event was incredibly successful. Tia will be co-chairing the Career Committee in 2018.

Connect Committee MVP –Melissa Murray, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point

For the last 2 years, Melissa Murray has been a critical member of the Connect Committee.  Whether it’s organizing a Backstage Pass like she did with Monarch Aerial Yoga and Dance or engaging new faces at a Meet & Mingle, Melissa is always there to help with a friendly smile.  For her continued dedication and dependability in times of need Ignite awards Melissa Murray the Connect Committee MVP award.

Community Committee MVP –Cecily Mileski, United Way of Portage County

Cecily has been an integral part of the Community Committee this past year.   She has been a great resource for generating local contacts, ideas for new events and has a great ability to spread the word about different events given her position at United Way. Her community involvement and her job perfectly embody the commitment she has to moving this community forward. It is for these reasons that Cecily has been selected for the Community Committee MVP for 2017.

Marketing MVP –Angel Whitehead, Portage County Business Council

Although Angel is Ignite’s new staff liaison, she goes above and beyond in her contributions to Ignite. It’s clear that she’s passionate about the organization. Angel has stepped up since day one , and was critical to the re-launch of the Marketing Committee at the beginning of the year. With her expertise in social media and digital marketing Ignite has been able to engage members and increase impressions throughout the year.

Stand Out New Member –Jenny Piotrowski, Eastbay

Jenny is a newly active member this year and she dove in head first in her involvement. She was actively involved on the Career Committee, but when a need on Ignite Advisory Board came up she didn’t hesitate to get further involved and take on the role of Membership Manager for 2018. Jenny has a lot of great ideas to bring to the table.


Board Member MVP –Savannah Hebior, AIG

Savannah has been a leader for Ignite in 2017. She has helped to develop structure for Ignite and assisted to organize new committees to better serve the organization. Savannah has helped shape the future of Ignite. She continues to bring news ideas and challenges to the organization to grow it stronger.

Business Supporter of the Year – Investors Community Bank

Investors Community Bank has been chosen as Ignite’s 2017 Business Supporter of the Year. Ignite chose Investors because of the commitment they have made to Ignite over the years through paid employee memberships, annual donations,  and overall support of employee engagement within Ignite. They believe in the passion of Ignite’s members and the positive impact they have made throughout Portage County.
